We ship our waterlilies from late March to September.We reserve the right to substitute another plant of comparable appearance and value if we are out of the plant you ordered. Water Lilies (Tropical) are shipped "bare-root" with at least 3 to 6 leaves on them. Tropical water lilies grow different than hardy water lilies and grow a smaller, bulb-like, rooted tuber. Some water lilies are shipped with flower buds already on them. Tropical Water Lilies usually hold their flowers above the surface of the water. There are day-blooming and night-blooming varieties. The flowers are open for 3 or 4 days each. They need a water temperature of 70 degrees F, though established plants can survive a bit lower. The spread of tropical Water Lilies ranges from 3 to 12 feet. Easily grown in wet soil in still water in full sun to part shade. Full sun may be best, but plants will usually flower well in part shade. Plant tubers in containers in spring with the crown slightly above the soil surface.
